IAG Tailgate Air Compressor System 2021+ Ford Bronco

4.8 stars, only because I had to cut a bit of plastic inside the tailgate on my 2026 Braptor. Other than that it was PERFECT!!

Just finished installing this air compressor. All went fairly well. My Raptor did not include ‘factory’ nuts for the aux battery connection. Had to go buy that to complete the install. Compressor works great.

Here to update the instal problems review. I worked with IAG and got a new bracket and installed that. Air compressor works great and was able to put air in my tires when it was super cold and my tire pressure dropped. Still only giving 4 stars because of the issues and I think there could be better options for hoses. Buy o really do like it. Would buy it again.

Did take a bit of doing to get her installed, but once complete, I love the look and functionality. It is out of the way and takes up no added space. I have a couple of tips for DIY-ers. What the install video a couple of times to get yourself familiar with the installation. Then, get the latest copy of the install document. Once you start connecting the hoses to the actual compressor, you will find a few steps missing from the video. Jackie in customer service really helped me get through this. Thanks Jackie!! Final tip...be careful putting the compressor into the tailgate. It's a tight fit, but will make it. I fought with it for a while, and actually had a wire get disconnected. Found that out during my trouble shooting efforts when I was done!! Simple plug back in, and everything was great! It is a bit of a timely process to get her done...especially if you're doing it yourself. You will be happy once it is done!!!

Having a 2 door Bronco and a family I need all the space I can get. I love the design and the overall fitment into the tailgate. I don't need to pop the hood, I don't have to hook anything up, just turn it on and air up. Quality craftsmanship with an easy-to-do install. If you're looking for a compressor for your rig, then this is the one for you, highly recommend it!

Very nicely planned out by AIG. I have a 2 door so the routing was a little different for the cable. The wire was routed to the passenger side and thru the firewall. Other than that very straight forward. I've been able to use the system twice now and both times it worked flawlessly. Highly recommend!

The kit has everything you need and the compressor works well. The best part is that it's pre wired to work with an aux switch! Be advised that the instructions are for a 4 door automatic, I had to change up some things to work with my 2 door manual, no big deal!

The IAG Tailgate Aircompressor system is awesome. I was looking for something that was concealed and I didn’t want to pop the hood every time I wanted to run an air hose. This system fit the bill. Took 3 min per tire to go from 19 psi to 35 psi. They send you an installation video which is step by step on how to install. It was almost foolproof and you can do it with a few tools you already have for sure. Took me a few hours to fully install but I was in no hurry.

A couple of notes on install when following the installation video. 1) When running the power line from the battery to rear, take the most direct route in the engine compartment from battery to the rubber piece going in to cabin. I initially ran from battery to fender then back to firewall but when I got the line all the way to back compartment, I was about 12” short so took a more direct route in engine compartment and all good. 2). Pay attention to the hose lengths as they are different and cut to length for a reason. Make sure you use the right one in the right place. 3). Make sure you don’t insert a hose in to its valve until you are sure you have it how you want it. I inserted one and realized I needed to run the hose a different way so pulled it out. That screwed up the washer that holds the hose in place so had to get a new one. 4). Test and check for leaks before you put the spare back on. I knew I had a leak when the system didn’t auto shut off when tank full. Just needed to push a hose in a little further but had to take spare off to do it.

Lastly, their customer service was exceptional. When I needed to replace the valve I screwed up, they got one out quickly at no charge.

Overall, this product works as intended and has an okay build quality. I do have some pointers about this kit (and I know some of these are a little nit-picky):

1. Pressure release valve: I followed the instructions and threaded the valve fitting into the air tank and test fitted it in the tire carrier, only to find out the angle to pull on the valve fitting was almost impossible. I know it only takes a small amount of movement from the valve to depressurize the tank, but I went ahead and added a 45-degree fitting to where the valve is pointing towards the bottom opening of the tire carrier.

2. Quick Connect fitting quality: The quick connect that comes in this kit is a cheap zinc plated steel fitting and began to rust after the first night of being installed on the tire carrier plate. I went ahead and upgraded to a 300 series stainless steel fitting.

3. Dust caps: If you are making an air compressor kit, it makes zero sense to not include any dust caps to cover the quick connect openings.

4. The air compressor power switch: Not sure if it was an installation issue at the factory, but the power switch grommet on the tailgate is not fully seated against the plate that covers the air compressor. Since it’s on the inside, I’m not too concerned.

The wiring part went well. No issues there. Until I got to installing the air compressor. Its not as easy as the video shows. The air lines they give you are way to rigid and need to be flexable. They also gave me a brass fitting with a sleeve on it. One time use, so if you need to replace the air line you also have to replace that fitting. I had to go buy a qd fitting to replace it with and better air line. Next the cover with the switch had probable mounting. The bracket behind the cover was not lining up great and I ended up stripping the threads and now I have one corner that isn't fastened. I wish they gave us better air line, correct fittings, and longer bolts to install the cover. It does fill the tank up quickly. Will test offroad soon.

This is well designed package to get a compressor and tank mounted I the bronco tailgate. The procedure is involved, but the instructions are very good and accurate. Took me about 5 hours total, I’m reasonably skilled at this type of thing, but not a pro by any means.
The kit was missing 1 screw and the breaker was missing a nut to install the main wire with so I had to run the hardware store.
The compressor is a very tight fit into the tailgate and at least one of the tubings need to be cut down to make things fit without kinking them.
Overall, the install is clean and the compressor works great.

First, this is a great product, works like it is suppose to. The directions are for the 4 door Bronco, I have the 2 door Heritage Limited 2024. The installation for running the wires and mounting the pump are ok but there are some parts on the 4 door the 2 door does not have. The main wire will run the same from the driver side behind the back seats and the passenger side. Mounting the pump and the air tank are the same as directed. Now here is where you find the extra things you may need to do. I have the stock spare tire and tire mount. The rim of the tire has a narrow opening so you will find that when remounting the spare tire the hose quick connect rubs the rim just so lightly that you will have to massage it on and off to cut some the paint from the rim so it works and it will work. Now for the air tank. when the tank is mounted you will see that the tank drain valve at the bottom does not line up with the hole in the tire mount. You can no pull the strap because there is no room. It pulls the valve to the side which will damage the valve. So this is what I did correct the problem. As for the hose quick connect I removed it and plugged the hole. I used the quick connect the came with the Hose kit and mounted it on the inside of the door by the pump. I removed it because the tire is so heavy I was afraid of hitting it and braking it off if I ever needed to change the tire. The air tank I had to cut a very small section out of the tire mount right under the drain vale so it would pull straight down and I added an extra strap onto the valve strap so it came down below the spare tire so I could grab it and yes it does work. I aired up the tank and pulled the strap and the valve did open releasing the air. If you have a Bronco with different stock or aftermarket rims, the tire mount may be made a little different then maybe nun of this will have to be done. Over all mounting it took 5 hours and yes pay attention when mounting the plastic hose measure them to make sure your using the correct one the directions call for. The plastic hose quick connects are very easy to use. If you need to remove the hose once installed just pull back on the black rim and the hose will pop out. I'm very pleased with this product and do recommend it for you Bronco or what ever you drive. Sorry I did not take any pictures.

The kit is fantastic, however the installation instructions leave a lot to he desired. The kit is designed for a 2 door and a 4 door Bronco. The instructions only cover the the 4 door install with an automatic transmission. The interior layout is very different from the 4 door to the 2 door. I own a 2 door with a manual transmission. Routing the wiring from the compressor to the battery is quite a challenge because the instructions do not cover it. Getting through the firewall is another storey. The rubber plug shown in the instructions is used for all of the clutch plumbing and not blank as shown in the instructions. There is no other direction on how to route the wiring to the battery.
