This valve controls transmission fluid flow to the external cooler, and many reports of failures are beginning to surface. In these cases, the factory valve is malfunctioning by restricting or eliminating flow to the external cooler, which quickly results in high fluid temps, damaged transmissions, and an array of warnings on your dashboard.
